FAQs

Q. Where are the leagues hosted?

A. Our Leighton Buzzard leagues are held at Cedars 3G Pitch, Mentmore Road, Leighton Buzzard, Beds, LU7 2AE

Our Milton Keynes leagues are held at Glebe Farm School 3G Pitch, Burney Drive, Glebe Farm, Milton Keynes, MK17 8FS

 

Q. How much is the match fee?

A. £36 per team. This is to be paid via card payment to the Leagues Manager on the night prior to your KO.

Q. How long are games?

A. 40 minutes - 2x 19 minute halves with a 2 minute half time interval.

Q. What time should we arrive for our game?

A. Total Football encourage all teams to arrive at least 10 minutes before KO.

Q. What nights do Total Football leagues run?

A. Monday all year round(18+), Wednesday April-August(18+), Thursday July-August(18+)

 

Q.Is there a maximum number of players in a match-day squad?

A. We would advise 10, but teams are allowed more if needed.

 

Q. What is the minimum number of players needed to play?

A. Teams can play with 6 players (7-a-side) and 4 players (5-a-side).

 

Q. How do Total Football communicate with teams?

A. Total Football will contact Team Managers initially. If unable to reach Team Managers Total Football will contact Assistant Managers

Q. When do fixtures get released?

A. Total Football endeavour to get all fixtures up on the website at least 48 hours before. All Team Managers / Assistant Managers will be contacted via text to alert them that fixtures have been released.

Q. When do I need to confirm my teams attendance at a fixture?

A. At least 8 hours prior to your scheduled KO time on the day of the match via email/text or phone.

Q.What happens if I confirm attendance and fail to turn up without letting Total Football know?

A. You will be required to pay both teams match fees - (£72)

Q.What happens if my team cannot fulfil a fixture?

A. Teams have to give at least 8 hours notice if they want to cancel a fixture. Failure to give 8 hours notice will result in the team owing their match fee - £36 and a 3-0 win being awarded to the opposition.

Q. What if our opposition cancel?

A. If an alternative league fixture cannot be arranged your team will receive a 3-0 win and Total Football will attempt to organise a friendly against another team. Match fees will still be applied.

Q.What player awards do Total Football hand out?

A. Total Football issue Top Goalscorer and Player of the Season awards for players in each league.

Q.What is the league format?

A. Teams will play in a league style format. League standings will be determined in the following way:

Points, goal difference, goals for, goals against, head to head.

Q. Do Total Football run Cup competitions?

A. Yes throughout the year Total Football will host cup competitions.

Q. If my team wishes to withdraw from the league how do we go about this?

A. Teams must put in writing to Total Football that they wish to withdraw from the league. At least 7 days notice must be given. Anything less than 7 days will result in the team owing 1 weeks match fee - £36.

Q. Can we borrow players from other teams?

A. Teams may borrow guest players from other teams in order to fulfil a fixture. Teams can only borrow players in order to make up a team of 6 or 7 players. Total Football must be made aware of any guest players being used and they must be named on the team sheet prior to KO.

Q. What is the points system in place for Total Football leagues?

A. 3 points - win, 1 point - draw, 0 points - loss.

Q. Are there direct and indirect free-kicks?

A. No, all free-kicks are direct.

Q. Can goalkeepers come out of their penalty area?

A. No, goalkeepers may not leave their penalty area. A penalty will be awarded if they do.

Q. How can goalkeepers distribute the ball?

A. Goalkeepers can roll, throw or kick the ball out during open play. Goalkeepers must kick the ball out from goal kicks.

Q. What is the back-pass rule in Total Football leagues?

A. Goalkeepers may receive the ball directly back from any outfield player but may not handle the ball with his/her hands.

Q.Is there a limit to the number of substitutions a team can make?

A. No, a team can make an unlimited number of substitutions.

Q. Are all referees qualified?

A. Yes.

Q. Are Total Football Leagues affiliated to a county FA.

A. Yes, all of our leagues are affiliated to the Beds FA.

Q. Do Total Football have a disciplinary system in place?

A. Please see T&Cs for all disciplinary sanctions.

Q. Are there footwear restrictions?

A. Astroturf trainers and moulded boots are the only permitted footwear.

Q. Do we need to wear shinpads?

A. Total Football would strongly encourage all players to wear shin pads.

Q. Are Total Football leagues insured?

A. Yes
